In his opinion, a minute counter was too small and did not allow easy reading underwater at a glance, so he decided to use the main chronograph hand to indicate the dive time. To do this, Willy Breitling created a unique new calibre called “Slow Motion”. This term comes from the fact that the hand used for diving goes round the dial in slow motion, i.e. in one hour instead of one minute.
