Description

An exceptional sport-chic watch, the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS features an extra-flat profile, a superb salmon “Monte Rosa” dial, and a COSC and Poinçon de Genève-certified L.U.C manufacture caliber. A rare timepiece of powerful, masterful elegance.Alpine Eagle 41 XPS: integrated haute horlogerie according to ChopardLaunched in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection marked Chopard’s return to the very exclusive circle of sporty-chic watches with integrated bracelets. With the 298623-3001, Chopard has gone one step further by offering an ultra-thin interpretation, certified by the Poinçon de Genève, powered by a latest-generation L.U.C caliber. This rare piece embodies everything that defines contemporary fine watchmaking: powerful design, extreme finesse, manufacture movement, exceptional finishing and long-term commitment. An elegant and ultra-thin case in Lucent Steel A223The 41 mm case, machined from Lucent Steel A223, is a mere 8 mm thick. This alloy, exclusive to Chopard, is 70% recycled, hypoallergenic, more resistant than traditional steel and, above all, has a brilliance comparable to that of white gold. The circular bezel, screwed on with eight aligned screws – an Alpine Eagle signature – emphasizes the structured geometry of the case. The notched crown, engraved with the wind rose, reinforces the link with the Alpine inspiration of the collection. But the strong point lies in the perfect integration of the steel bracelet, with its fluid design, alternating satin-finished surfaces and polished chamfers. This integrated bracelet is fundamental to the visual and ergonomic identity of the collection: it naturally extends the case middle and ensures exceptional wearing comfort, worthy of a metal glove.A vibrant, textured and lively “Monte Rosa” dialThe dial is undoubtedly the most captivating element of this Alpine Eagle XPS. Its pinkish salmon hue, named “Monte Rosa” in homage to the highest Swiss-Italian peak, evokes the soft light of the Alps at dawn. This rare, subtle and poetic color is directly inspired by the natural alpine palette, and gives the watch a unique aura, between warmth, minerality and pure light.Engraved with the collection’s signature radiant pattern—inspired by the iris of the golden eagle—this dial captures and reflects light with intensity. It oscillates between copper reflections, golden pinks and pastel shades, offering a vivid visual depth with each turn of the wrist. The whole is deliberately uncluttered: no date window disturbs the harmony of the dial. The applied hour markers and faceted rhodium-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 ensure impeccable readability while blending discreetly into the background. This “Monte Rosa” dial is much more than a simple time display: it is a constantly evolving visual experience, imbued with alpine poetry and artisanal virtuosity.L.U.C 96.40-L caliber: ultra-thin, COSC-certified and Poinçon de Genève-certifiedBeneath its apparent sobriety, this Alpine Eagle conceals an exceptional caliber: the L.U.C 96.40-L, developed, decorated and assembled at the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier. This ultra-thin automatic movement, just 3.30 mm thick, is powered by a 22-carat gold micro-rotor, which preserves the slimness of the case while ensuring efficient winding. It also benefits from patented Twin® technology, combining two barrels to guarantee a 65-hour power reserve. But above all, this prestigious caliber is doubly certified:COSC chronometer for its precisionPoinçon de Genève, one of the highest watchmaking distinctions, which guarantees not only the quality of the movement, but also the excellence of the entire watch (finishing, assembly, adjustment, aesthetics)Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the L.U.C 96.40-L caliber is a veritable mechanical landscape, designed down to the smallest detail. The bridges are delicately decorated with perfectly parallel, linear Côtes de Genève, emphasizing the precision of their architecture. The mainplate is circular-grained, the chamfers are bevelled and polished, all testifying to work carried out according to the strictest standards of Swiss haute horlogerie. The off-center 22-carat gold micro-rotor, engraved and adorned with a fine circular graining, is elegantly integrated into this mechanical composition. Its oscillating weight reduces the thickness of the movement while ensuring efficient and silent winding. The organization of the caliber is remarkably symmetrical, making it as pleasant to read as it is educational: the layout of the barrels, gear trains, winding train and escapement reflects clear, legible and rational watchmaking thinking. Each component of the L.U.C 96.40-L caliber – screws, bridges, pinions, levers – is hand-finished, polished, chamfered and adjusted according to the rules of a preserved craftsmanship. The whole is not only beautiful: it is the witness of a total commitment to excellence, crowned by the prestigious certification of the Poinçon de Genève, visible engraved on the movement side.At the highest levelAt this level of achievement, we enter the reserved domain of elite haute horlogerie, that which is recognizable at first glance, that which has nothing to prove. The L.U.C calibers are regularly hailed by connoisseurs as being among the finest movements in the industry – both technically and artistically.Through their consistency, their finish, their rarity and their regularity, they rise to the top of the watchmaking pyramid, alongside the world’s most respected independent manufacturers.A responsible timepieceThe Alpine Eagle XPS is fully in line with Chopard’s “Journey to Sustainable Luxury” program. Its case is made of 70% recycled Lucent Steel A223, produced using an ethical melting process. The micro-rotor is made of ethical 22-carat gold from traceable and certified sources. With this watch, Chopard proves that it is possible to combine the highest level of watchmaking expertise with an uncompromising commitment to the environment.
