Description
Un calibre de manufacture Hi-Beats, une étanchéité et une robustesse à toute épreuve. Grand Seiko présente sa SBGJ239, incarnant tout son savoir-faire en matière de montres de sportThe ideal sports watchThe Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi has brought together all its know-how to design the ideal sports watch. The cradle of the Japanese Manufacture’s mechanical watches, this SBGJ239 is highly desirable! The first thing that strikes you is the amazing sapphire bezel. Two-coloured, it combines a black-green tinted part for the night hours, and a white one for the day hours. As this watch is part of the Sport collection, it had to be extremely luminescent. And it is done, with the lower part of the bezel entirely filled with Lumibrite, the exclusive luminescent material of the Japanese brand. The top of the bezel is also concerned, the numbers being luminescent at night. It can be said that this bezel adds great depth to the watch, and reminds us of the old bakelite bezels of the 1960s watches. This timepiece is quite imposing, with a steel case measuring 44.2 mm in diameter and 14.4 mm thick. But this is a choice, in order to offer a water resistance of 200 meters (the crown is screwed). The case is designed and finished in typical GS fashion, i.e. with very high standards. There is a combination of finely brushed surfaces with polished accents, flawless and distortion-free thanks to the Zaratsu technique. The SBGJ239 features a beautiful green sunray dial with large hand-finished applied hour markers. The dauphine hands, typical of the Grand Seiko, are filled with Lumibrite and have a brushed finish on the top and polished on the sides. A detail, but it allows them to stand out easily from the dial, for a perfect readability. A red GMT hand recalls the GMT inscription present at 6 o’clock.Despite its very sporty design, the brown alligator strap gives the watch a vintage look. Small detail, it is equipped with a folding clasp with push buttons. A high frequency motorThe 9S86 calibre has been chosen to power this watch. This Hi-Beats manufacture movement beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour and thus allows a fluid movement of the seconds hand. A real pleasure to watch. Despite this high frequency, the power reserve is rather comfortable with its 55 hours of power reserve. The Grand Seiko chronometer standards being stricter than the COSC one, the precision of the watch is much superior with an average of -5/+3 seconds per day. This movement offers a GMT complication, a real one, which means that you can set the hour hand independently.
