Description
The moon phase indicator of the Speedmaster Moonwatch houses an image of the star as precise as a NASA photoThe Speedmaster, an iconic Omega watch, has participated in all six lunar missions. This steel-on-steel version marks a turning point in the history of this legendary model as it features the brand new 9904 chronograph calibre. This manufactured movement has passed the demanding tests of the new Master Chronometer certification. This COSC-certified Omega Speedmaster moon phase chronograph meets the very demanding criteria of METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) and is therefore resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss. For the display, Omega has opted for a bicompax layout with a date counter by hand and small seconds at 9 o’clock and a display of the chronometer times at 3 o’clock. Speaking of details that make all the difference, the two moons of this model with its black dial have been made from a NASA photo on which appears the imprint of a footprint left on the sea of tranquility by Neil Armstrong.
